Gloucestershire v Worcestershire - Match Day Information
22 April 2016
A very warm welcome to The Brightside Ground, Bristol
Today we welcome old rivals Worcestershire County Cricket Club and their supporters to The Brightside Ground, Bristol .
On arrival you will see there is still some on-going work taking place, most obviously on the tennis court / car park area. Our aim is to have the following items completed by the start of our Specsavers County Championship Match v Glamorgan on 15 May:
- A redeveloped car park area within the ground allowing for more spaces and a safer walking bus route for local schoolchildren
- The café which will be situated on the ground floor of the residential development at the Ashley Down Road end (bottom right when looking from the pavilion)
- 2 new flagpoles
- Improved disability access into the Optimum Sports Bar
- More permanent toilets and bars at the rear of the Mound Stand (please note that for the Derbyshire and Worcestershire matches we have supplied temporary toilets at the Ashley Down Road end (behind the mound stand and on the open side of the ground)
- The clock still provides a challenge for us and having located the face we are now trying to find a home for it not too long into the season
As above, the timing of a lot of this work had to coincide as much as possible with our floodlights build. Apologies that we haven’t been able to complete this prior to the start of the season but we look forward to showcasing all of this before long.
