3 February 2022
Gloucestershire Cricket will be heading to Dubai in March as part of preparation for the 2022 season.
The trip to the United Arab Emirates from 5-15 March will include two red-ball matches against Yorkshire. Each match will be played over the course of two days with the dates and venue to be confirmed.
The tour of Dubai precedes a further four red-ball matches for new Head Coach Dale Benkenstein to become familiar with each member of Gloucestershire’s 26-man squad.
Gloucestershire Cricket Performance Director Steve Snell said:
"I am extremely pleased we are able to head to Dubai to as part of our 2022 season preparations. The squad have been working extremely hard over the winter in order to prepare as thoroughly for the season as possible.
"Our trip to Dubai will provide a mix of outside practice and match day opportunities, as well as a chance to spend some valuable time together as a squad and provide an chance for our new Head coach Dale Benkenstein to build and accelerate relationships with players and staff.
"The mix of warm weather preparation and an opportunity to transition to English wickets from mid-March in the lead up to the season, will provide an excellent balance for preparing our squad for a successful season."
