17 January 2019

Gloucestershire Cricket is delighted to announce that three 50 over International under 19 matches will be played at the Cheltenham Cricket Festival this summer as part of an exciting and busy Festival programme.

The College Ground will host the following matches:

Friday 26th July – England U19 v India U19

Saturday 27th July – Bangladesh U19 v India U19

Sunday 28th July – England U19 v Bangladesh U19

Gloucestershire supporters will no doubt hope that youngster Ben Charlesworth will be included in the England under 19 squad. Charlesworth was recently included in the squad of 15 players taking part of the tour in Bangladesh – Click here for more

We are pleased to announce that all Gloucestershire Cricket Members will have these three under 19’s matches included in their 2019 Membership, including our One-Day Membership.

The 2019 Festival will now contain 7 fixtures and 13 days of scheduled cricket over a two-week period, providing the crowds at the Cheltenham College with a feast of both red and white ball cricket in the height of the summer.

Tickets prices and Hospitality prices for these fixtures will be released at a later date, make sure you keep an eye out on the Gloucestershire Cricket website.

Gloucestershire Chief Executive Will Brown said: “We are delighted to have these three very exciting fixtures included in the Cheltenham Cricket Festival calendar this year. Bangladesh are a strong side but England vs India at any level has always been one of the most exciting matches in the cricketing calendar and the opportunity to see the next Joe Root or Virat Kohli making their mark on the International scene is an unique one. Three matches in as many days will be a real test for the youngsters but we know that the knowledgeable and enthusiastic festival crowd will bring the best out of these players.

With Ben Charlesworth already a feature of the current “Young Lions” squad and other Gloucestershire players like Greg Willows queuing up for their opportunity there is a strong chance that we will be able to see a Gloucestershire player in national colours.

We are also pleased to have included the U19 ODI Tri-Series as part of all Gloucestershire Cricket Memberships. We wanted to ensure that all our Members can watch as much cricket as possible in the 2019 season.”

The Under 19 ODI Tri-Series adds to an already exciting and extensive 2019 cricket programme. We have also included the two Gloucestershire v Australia A matches at the end of June and beginning of July as part of all Membership categories.

Don’t forget, Early-Bird Membership is available until Friday 1st February 2019. Our Junior membership is just £20 for the whole season, whilst our One-Day supporters can join Gloucestershire for just £99.
