Gloucestershire to host community days in Cheltenham and Bristol this summer
6 July 2022
Gloucestershire Cricket is very excited to be hosting two community days, in partnership with Bola, our Community Day and Schools Day partner. These will be taking place at our home ground in Bristol, the Seat Unique Stadium, and also at the Visit Cayman Islands Cheltenham Cricket Festival. The purpose of these days are to bring together businesses and organisations from the local area and to celebrate the community Gloucestershire Cricket Club represents.
The first community day will be on Tuesday 2 August at the Visit Cayman Islands Cheltenham Festival during the match v Warwickshire in the Royal London Cup. The second will be at the Seat Unique Stadium on Wednesday 10 August during the Nottinghamshire Royal London Cup match.
The days will consist of a number of varied, exciting activities including a number of army representatives including the RAF & the Navy. You can join in an interactive field hospital, as well as testing yourself to some military fitness drills and much more!
You will also be able to test your reaction time on the reaction wall, test your cricket & football skills with the inflatable bowling cage and football challenges from Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham FC and Forest Green Rovers. We will also have the opportunity to learn how to play chess and challenge an international master, who will be blindfolded!
Other opportunities include looking inside some emergency vehicles including a fire engine, ambulance and riot van! In addition, the police will let you meet some of their dogs and horses, and don’t forget there will be some cricket too!
Pete Lamb Head of Community at Gloucestershire Cricket, said: “We are so grateful to have the opportunity to invite our local community to take part in what will be a fantastic day. After some challenging years for so many, it’s going to be wonderful to have everyone together to celebrate the amazing community we are so lucky to be a part of in Gloucestershire”.
Everyone is welcome, whether it be your first cricket match or your 500th, we want you to come and join us to enjoy what will be a day to remember!
