21 February 2025
Gloucestershire Cricket has announced the signing of Australian international Cameron Green for five matches in the first block of Rothesay County Championship matches.
The 25-year-old will join the squad ahead of their third red-ball match of the season against Kent at the Spitfire Ground, Canterbury, starting on Friday 18 April.
His final appearance for Gloucestershire will be against Northamptonshire at the County Ground, Northampton, from Friday 23 May, before departing the club prior to the start of the Vitality Blast on Friday 30 May.
Green, who has been a key player for Australia since making his Test debut against India in December 2020, will feature for Glos ahead of for Australia’s World Test Championship Final against South Africa at Lord’s in June.
The all-rounder has an impressive Test record, with 1,377 runs at an average of 36.23, including two centuries and six fifties. He has also taken 35 wickets at an average of 35.31, with career-best bowling figures of 5/27, achieved during the Boxing Day Test against South Africa in 2022.
Green played an important role in Australia's 2023 World Test Championship Final victory over India, taking two wickets for 44 runs in the first innings.
The 25-year-old has not featured in competitive cricket since September due to a lower back injury but is targeting a return as a specialist batter for the backend of the Australian domestic summer.
Gloucestershire fans will be able to watch Green in action in the following County Championship fixtures:
Date | Opposition | Location |

"Cameron Green’s ability is unquestionable, and he is clearly first-class.
"He usually operates in a key position for the best Test team in the world at the moment and having that pedigree in our camp is amazing for the players alongside him.
"We have serious ambitions in all formats in 2025 and Cameron’s signing will reinforce this sentiment."
Gloucestershire Cricket Chair Peter Matthews, added:
"We are delighted to welcome Cameron to Gloucestershire, and will do everything we can to support him having an enjoyable and productive stay in Bristol.
"This deal would not have been possible without a significant donation from a Member of the Club, and we are incredibly grateful for his generosity, which has enabled us to do this deal without going over the playing budget."
Green will wear the number 31 shirt during his stay with the Club and is available to sponsor.
The signing of Green adds further Test match experience to the Gloucestershire squad as they look to make a strong start to their Rothesay County Championship Division Two campaign.
