Gloucestershire sign Bamber on loan from Middlesex
14 July 2019
Gloucestershire Cricket have signed young Middlesex bowler Ethan Bamber on a month loan spell.
Supporters will be familiar with Bamber who played against Gloucestershire last week for Middlesex. Bamber has played in three County Championship matches so far this season, he is likely to start for Gloucestershire against Leicestershire in the opening match at The Fergal O'Brien Cheltenham Cricket Festival tomorrow (Monday 15 July).
The 20-year-old seamer made his Middlesex first eleven breakthrough last year, playing in the club’s final six County Championship matches of the 2018 season, when he took 28 wickets at an average of just over 20.
He has made three further Championship appearances in 2019 and has taken another three wickets.
Gloucestershire Head Coach, Richard Dawson said:
"We are delighted to have Ethan in the squad, He played against us last week so we already know how we can potentially ustilise him."
Angus Fraser, Middlesex Cricket’s Managing Director of Cricket, commented:
“Middlesex want our young cricketers to get as much first team experience as possible, so when Gloucestershire approached us about the possibility of Ethan playing for them, it was a pretty simple decision.
Don't miss out on the chance to watch Ethan and the Gloucestershire side at Cheltenham College.
