2 March 2022
Gloucestershire Cricket’s boys pathway team have returned home following a two-week tour of Sri Lanka in which they picked up two wins and a tie in five matches against local opposition.
The Shire’s talented youngsters put on a string of impressive performances in the South Asian country during their trip, which gave the up and coming pathway players invaluable opportunities to test themselves in hot and humid conditions overseas .
The squad of 15 boys, whose ages range from 15 to 18-years-old, landed back in the UK on 27 February having tasted success on the tour. Head of Talent Pathway, Tim Hancock and his colleague, Paul Muchall, joined the pathway squad for the trip which saw the team play at the renowned Galle International Ground; a regular venue for international cricket.
Gloucestershire’s boys pathway team were joined in Sri Lanka by the girls county age group squad, led by the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation (GCF), who also played five matches in the country.
Among the top performers by our Gloucestershire Young Cricketers were right-handed batters Joe Phillips and Tommy Boorman, and all-rounder Praneel Choughule.
