Graeme van Buuren and Jack Taylor to continue in captaincy roles for 2023
14 March 2023
Gloucestershire Cricket is pleased to confirm that Graeme van Buuren and Jack Taylor will continue in their same captaincy roles in the 2023 season.
Club Captain van Buuren will lead the side out in the County Championship, while Taylor will take the reigns in the One Day Cup and Vitality Blast.
Speaking of the re-appointment of both players, Head Coach at Gloucestershire Cricket, Dale Benkenstein, commented:
“It is great to have some continuity from a leadership point of view as we go into the new season. There has been a lot of changes around the support staff and playing staff, so to keep the leadership on the field consistent is important.
“It will be great to see the two lads grow this year and lead the teams to a successful season.”
On leading the red-ball team again, van Buuren said:
“I’m really excited to be back for another season as captain of the County Championship side. It was a privilege to have led this team last season and I'm looking forward to the challenge of leading them again this year.
"It's been brilliant to have everyone back at the Seat Unique Stadium and I'm sure it's going to be a great season."
White-ball captain, Jack Taylor, said:
“I’m looking forward to taking this group forward this year. We built some great momentum at the back end of last season, so we will look to take that into this season with some fresh faces in the group.
"We are all hungry for silverware and I feel that we have all bases covered with a perfect blend of youth and experience.”
