Gloucestershire Cricket bids farewell to Richard Coughtrie

7 October 2013

Gloucestershire County Cricket Club today announced that Richard Coughtrie has left the Club.  Richard has spent three seasons with Gloucestershire.

Former Chief Executive, Tom Richardson, said "Richard has played a full part in the squad over the period he has been with the club.  He has had very limited opportunities to play 1st class cricket this year but we have always been impressed with his enthusiasm, commitment and contribution.  He adds value in a wide variety of ways and is going to be missed."

Richard Coughtrie said "I would like to thank Gloucestershire County Cricket Club for the opportunity.  I have had three great years here and will be a keen follower for many more years to come.  I wish the club every success in the future."

Everyone at the club also wishes Richard well as he prepares to take part in the 2013 Big Bike Ride – a fundraising and awareness challenge on behalf of the PCA Benevolent Fund and the Tom Maynard Trust.

It will take place over 5 days, as a point to point ride, starting at The Riverside, Durham CCC on 18 October, finishing at Lord’s Cricket Ground on 22nd October.  Richard, together with his former team-mate, Hamish Marshall, is looking to complete the entire ride of 441 miles in 5 days.
