Gloucestershire Cricket appoint Neil Priscott as Chief Executive Officer
13 February 2025
Gloucestershire Cricket is delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Priscott as Chief Executive Officer after an eight-month period as Interim.
After a two-month open recruitment process, Neil was appointed earlier this week and started in his new role effective immediately.
Neil will report to Gloucestershire Cricket Chair Peter Matthews, and be accountable for the origination, implementation and execution of the long-term strategy of the Club.
On his appointment, Neil said:
“I am absolutely thrilled to be appointed as Chief Executive Officer at Gloucestershire Cricket and proud to be entrusted with the executive leadership of the Club that has meant so much to me throughout my life. I spent a week’s work experience at Nevil Road as a 15-year old schoolboy and have had a close affinity with all things Glos ever since. To now lead Gloucestershire at what I believe is a key point in its history is humbling and exciting in equal measure.
“The Club has a really talented, passionate and hard-working team – on and off the field – and it’s my job to harness that team to drive us forward to greater heights. After a ‘turnaround’ year in 2024 I’m confident we’re on the right path, but we’ve got more to do to ensure we are at the top table of professional men’s and women’s cricket in this country. As a local resident I’m also passionate about ensuring we have an enjoyable and welcoming venue at the heart of our community, which will require effective partnership work with some of our key stakeholders such as the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation and our governing body, the ECB.
“I’m grateful for all the support I’ve received from colleagues, the Board and Members throughout my Interim period. I’m now looking forward to working with Peter and everyone at the Club with a firm desire to grow the Club and take Gloucestershire forward.”
The permanent appointment comes after former Chief Executive Officer Will Brown stepped down in May 2024 after almost 11 years in the role.
After selecting Neil as permanent CEO, Chair Peter Matthews said:
“We ran a rigorous process with a wide variety of candidates and Neil stood out for the support he had from the staff and his passion for the club.
“I was very grateful for the support of the Members Working Group, who were part of the interview panel and provided The Board with excellent input and advice. They recommended that we appoint Neil.”
Everyone at Gloucestershire Cricket wishes Neil the best of luck as he looks to take the Club forward in the run-up to the 2025 season and beyond.
