Gloucestershire Cricket announce new Chairman

Following the Club’s Annual General Meeting, which was held on Thursday 25 April, Rex Body stood down as Chairman of the Club after 3 years in office.  His successor is Mr Roger Cooke.

Roger was born in Bristol and has two children and two grandchildren.  He is a retired Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.  He was a Partner in Arthur Andersen for 22 years.  During this time his roles included leading their London tax practice, being head of Tax for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa, a member of their Global Board of Partners and global CFO, based in Chicago.

His interests include cricket, tennis, football, theatre, food and wine.  He is a Vice President of a children's charity, Wooden Spoon.  Roger is a lifetime Gloucestershire supporter and was the Club’s Honorary Treasurer from 2006 to 2010 following which he became the Club’s Deputy Chairman.

Commenting on becoming Club Chairman, Roger said: “I am greatly honoured by my appointment.  These are exciting times for the Club and I am looking forward to seeking to maximise the opportunities afforded to us by our on-going ground development, both on and off the field."
