Gloucestershire confirm departure of Lead Bowling Coach Robbie Joseph to Kent
4 December 2023
Gloucestershire Cricket can confirm that Lead Bowling Coach Robbie Joseph will leave the Club ahead of the 2024 season to join Kent Cricket.
Joseph joined the Club on a temporary basis at the back end of the 2022 season before being appointed in a permanent role in November 2022.
A former Kent player, Joseph joins the county as Men's Bowling Coach having made 110 appearances for the South East side between 2004-2014, taking 230 wickets across all formats.
Reflecting on his time at Glos, Robbie said:
“First and foremost, I’d like to thank Gloucestershire County Cricket Club for the opportunity to become Lead Bowling Coach of this historic Club.
“Special thanks to Dale Benkenstein and the rest of the coaching staff for their help and guidance along the way.
“It’s with mixed emotions that my journey here will come to an end, but this opportunity gives me the chance to be closer to my young family. I'm looking forward to my new journey at Kent – this time as a coach.”
Head Coach at Gloucestershire Cricket, Dale Benkenstein said:
"We’re sad to see Robbie go but understand the decision. The opportunity at Kent allows him to be closer to family and to coach at a club he used to play for.
"I’ve enjoyed the recent combination of our coaching staff, and Robbie was a big part of that. We’d like to thank him for all the work he’s done not only with our bowlers but also with the other members of the coaching team.
"We hope we’ve helped him move his career forward, and we’ll be watching him closely as part of our Glos family. He’ll always be welcome back at the Club.”
