Gloucestershire bring in wicketkeeper Tattersall on loan
25 May 2021
Gloucestershire Cricket have signed Yorkshire wicketkeeper Jonathan Tattersall on loan for the next red-ball encounter against Surrey at The Kia Oval.
Tattersall, who has kept wicket for Yorkshire in five of their first six County Championship matches will be available to play for Gloucestershire this weekend before heading back to his native county.
The loan move comes as a result of James Bracey’s selection in England’s Test squad for the upcoming Series against New Zealand.
Overseas signing Glenn Phillips, who has kept wicket at international level, has arrived in the UK but will not be available for the Club’s next fixture and the signing of Tattersall provides the necessary cover behind the stumps.
Tattersall has taken 16 catches in this year’s County Championship and has scored 101 runs at 14.42, batting at number six for the White Rose county.
Interim Head Coach Ian Harvey said:
"James Bracey's selection in the England Test squad is fantastic for the Club but it does mean we are without our first choice wicketkeeper in the meantime. It's great that we've been able to bring in a player of Jonathan's quality that can keep wicket against Surrey this week."
