Gloucestershire begin pre season campaign with a win

17 March 2017

Gloucestershire's pre season campaign got off to a winning start on Thursday as the team secured victory over Oxford MCCU at The Parks.

Richard Dawson selected a side that had a mix of youth and experience which proved too much for the hosts as Gloucestershire secured a win by 160 runs.

There were contributions from all departments of the XI, but it was van Buuren who led the way for Gloucestershire, scoring 100 off 112 balls.

Brandon Gilmour (46) and George Hankins (53) also impressed with the bat, whilst Noema-Barnett (34 not out) looked comfortable at the crease at the end of the innings.

Oxford MCCU were set a target of 245, but the experience of the Gloucestershire Cricket bowlers was too much for the young university side.

Both Chris Lidde and Tom Smith took three wickets, whilst Noema-Barnett took two.

Callum Gregory and Miles Hammond contributed with one wicket each, which saw the hosts end their innings 84 all out.
