Glos nominated for Sustainability Campaign of the Year at annual BOCA awards
9 November 2022
Gloucestershire Cricket has been nominated for Sustainability Campaign of the Year at this year’s Business of Cricket Awards (BOCA).
The Shire is one of three finalists in the category, and will go up against Warwickshire and Surrey for the award at a ceremony in Manchester tomorrow (Thursday) evening. The event at Emirates Old Trafford will recognise and reward First-Class Counties and MCC personnel who work tirelessly to show influence, insight, and innovation, taking the experience of cricket for its fans beyond expected standards.
Due to Covid the awards did not take place for the 2020 or 2021 seasons. Therefore, this year’s awards will allow entries for projects, campaigns and initiatives for all three seasons from 2020–2022.
Sustainability Campaign of the Year 2020-22
This award shines a light on excellent environmental sustainability strategies that demonstrate vision and action on tackling climate change.
Judges will be looking at strategy development and the breadth of engagement within the organisation, its communities, and its stakeholders. They will also be considering the commitment to continuously improve sustainability and reduce adverse environmental impacts over time.
Over the last few years Gloucestershire and its employees have worked tirelessly to reduce the Club’s impact on the environment, and sustainability is now at the heart of everything we do. Gloucestershire's stated ambition is to become the most environmentally sustainable cricket club in the world, which is backed up by the Club's commitement to the United Nations Race To Zero.
