Gidman Brothers Put Kent In Trouble
19 May 2014
Will Gidman took his LV=County Championship wicket tally for the season to 18 with another impressive effort as Kent were bowled out for 114 on the second day of the match at Bristol.
The Gloucestershire all-rounder finished with the miserly figures of 4-14 from 12 overs after the visitors had added 81 to their overnight total of 33-6.
James Fuller returned 4-42 to follow up his good performance against Surrey at The Oval and helped earn his side a valuable first innings lead of 138.
Gloucestershire then rammed home their advantage after slipping to 58-3, Alex Gidman carrying on where his younger brother had left off with a timely half-century.
Alex was 15 short of a second Championship hundred of the season when top-edging a pull shot and falling to catch at mid-wicket off Darren Stevens.
Hamish Marshall contributed to an assured fourth-wicket partnership of 135 and was unbeaten on 66 at the close with the home side 351 in front.
