First 'Cricket Memories Match' against Middlesex

Gloucestershire Cricket is set to make history by becoming the first club in the country to host a ‘Cricket Memories Match’ during the match tomorrow against Middlesex in the NatWest T20 Blast.
To celebrate 125 years since Gloucestershire played the first professional match at the Bristol County Ground, we’re encouraging people to donate their memories of the first time they came here.
It’s the first Cricket Memories Match to be held in the country and the first of three we’re organising this season as we continue to help people with dementia by working with the charity ‘Sporting Memories Network’. The next two are at Cheltenham and then the ODI with none other than Mike Procter making an appearance and showing his support.
The memories will then get used as a resource to spark conversations in our weekly reminiscence groups held at the Bristol County ground to reduce social isolation for people with dementia and also build an archive which we can use in our new museum once it’s open.
How to donate your memories:
1. Speak to a ‘Memory Maker’ who’ll be going round the ground during the Middlesex NatWest T20 Blast.
2. Go to the ‘Sporting Memories Network’ gazebo next to the big screen during the Middlesex NatWest T20 Blast.
3. Tweet your memory to either @gloscricket or @SportsMemNet using #cricketmemories.
