Blast is Back - Stats and Facts

2016 was a great year for Gloucestershire in the NatWest T20 Blast, finishing top of the South Group and reaching the Quarter-Finals in the process.
Our 2017 NatWest T20 Blast campaign will begin at the Cheltenham Cricket Festival on Friday 7 July when we face Middlesex in what will be an action-packed Friday afternoon of cricket.
With tickets for the NatWest T20 Blast now on sale, we take a look back at some interesting facts from the competition last year!
Did you know:
1. Benny Howell took the most wickets in the NatWest T20 Blast with a total of 24.
2. Gloucestershire One-Day Captain Michael Klinger top scored in the entire competition with an impressive 548 runs.
3. Ian Cockbain came third on the 'Big Hitters' list in the competition with 499 runs.
4. Gloucestershire topped the South Group Table ahead of local rivals Glamorgan with a total of 21 points.
5. Our record attendance in the NatWest T20 Blast was against rivals Somerset with 11,000 supporters filling the Brightside Ground, Bristol on Friday 17 June 2016.
6. Jack Taylor hit a phenomenal 5 sixes and 7 fours against Durham in the T20 Quarter-Finals – scoring a total of 80 runs off just 41 balls.
7. Ian Cockbain took the most catches in the T20 Blast for Gloucestershire with 9 in total.
8. Our highest total in the competition came against Essex at the Cheltenham Cricket Festival with an impressive score of 212/1.
9. Century partnerships in the competition occurred 4 times, two of them involving Big Hitters Michael Klinger and Ian Cockbain.
10. Gloucestershire’s Mascot Alfred the Gorilla finished first in the NatWest T20 Blast Mascot Race with an impressive photo finish ahead of Nuts the Squirrel from Nottinghamshire. You can watch the mascot race – click here.
