Durham MCCU fixture - FREE entry for supporters
29 March 2016
Entry to the 3-day Durham MCCU match at the Bristol County Ground is FREE of charge.
This First Class Fixture begins on Thursday 31 March with play scheduled to commence at 11.00 am each day against the university side.
This annual university match will be the last chance Richard Dawson and Ian Harvey will have to look at their squad before the 2016 Specsavers County Championship campaign gets underway.
Team News
Head Coach Richard Dawson has named a squad of 13, which includes Academy graduate George Hankins and Yorkshire loanee Josh Shaw, who is with Gloucestershire for the whole of the 2016 season.
"We've tried to give everybody opportunities over the past couple of weeks" Dawson said. "We had three good days against Somerset at Taunton Vale but unfortunately the weather curtailed the T20's against them and we lost a day at Edgbaston against Warwickshire. The squad we have picked reflects the fact that some batsmen need time at the crease and some bowlers need overs. We also want to ensure our catching is sharp from the word go, which it wasn't at the beginning of last season."
"Everyone is keen to go into the season with some confidence, so each of the players will want to take something positive out of what is the first game at the Bristol County Ground. From a performance point of view I want us to play some good cricket against a group of players out to impress. Paul Grayson is the new Durham MCCU coach so I'm expecting them to come down and give it a good crack against us."
Gloucestershire: Dent, Cockbain, Hankins, Roderick (C), Marshall, Howell, Noema-Barnett, J.Taylor, Miles, Payne, Norwell, Shaw, Hampton.
Durham MCCU: Clark (C), Kurtz, Steel, Macdonell, Pollock, Gibson, Jenkins, Phillips, Wood, Dunford, Dewes, Owen.
