Dent Ton Seals Comfortable Draw

5 August 2013

Chris Dent hit an unbeaten 128 as Gloucestershire comfortably batted out the final day to draw the LV=County Championship match with Northants at Northampton.

The opener occupied the crease for four hours and 14 minutes after a rain-delayed start and received excellent support from Michael Klinger (78) in a stand of 190 for the first wicket.

Dent hit 17 fours and a six, while skipper Klinger registered 10 fours and a six before falling to a catch by Andrew Hall off the bowling of Cameron White.

Dent was still there when the players shook hands with Gloucestershire 227-1, Gareth Roderick ending 12 not out.

The only winner proved to be a pitch that saw 1,152 runs scored over the course of the game and only 15 wickets taken.

Gloucestershire took eight points from the match to go third in the Championship Second Division, 27 behind second placed Northants, who claimed 11 points.
