Dawson and Marshall visit Aston Ingham for first "Evening With The Champions" event
18 January 2016
Royal London One-Day Cup winners Richard Dawson and batsman Hamish Marshall visited Aston Ingham for the first Gloucestershire Cricket “Evening With The Champions” event.
More than 60 people packed into the village hall to quiz the pair on their famous win at Lord’s and every aspect of life as a professional cricketer.
Gloucestershire Cricket Board (GCB) community coach Scott Tremain said the night was a huge success.
He said: “It was a fantastic evening. Dawson and Marshall spoke really well and Aston Ingham made it into a real event with homemade cakes and refreshments.
“It was great to see a wide range of ages there from junior members right through to their grandparents. The quality of questions asked was really high and I think the audience got a real insight into what it takes to be a professional player and coach.”
The evening was the first of 15 taking place across county in a bid to strengthen the bond between Gloucestershire CCC and the county’s clubs.
The nights will feature informal question and answer sessions Dawson and different members of the first team squad.
The ‘tour’ will visit all four corners of the county including Rockhampton on January 18, Bristol YMCA on Jan 20, Gloucester City Winget oN the 25th and Forest Exiles on the 27th. For a full list click here.
