David Finch completes London Marathon challenge
11 October 2022
Gloucestershire Cricket’s Membership and Ticketing Administrator, David Finch, completed the iconic challenge of The London Marathon on 2nd October in a time of 5 hours 20 minutes.
David was raising money for Children’s Hospice South West, the Club’s charity partner in 2022. The charity provides hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and their whole family with respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care at three children's hospices across the South West. Thanks in no small part to the generosity of colleagues and members of the Club, over £2400 has been raised.
David, said:
"It was a wonderful day. The atmosphere at the end was inspiring and helped me through, especially those last gruelling few miles
"It was a real privilege to have the opportunity to take part in such an event and to raise funds for such a fantastic charity. I am so grateful to all my colleagues and to all the wonderful members of the Club who donated so generously. Very many thanks to everyone who contributed."
David is also running the Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 16th October, again for CHSW. If you haven’t yet made a donation and would like to do so, please contribute via the Just Giving page for that event
