Dale Benkenstein: "To win five out of eight is great progression from the season we've had"
25 August 2022
Gloucestershire Head Coach Dale Benkenstein has paid tribute to the Club's up and coming younger players who put in impressive performances throughout the recent Royal London Cup campaign.
Despite winning five out of eight matches in the one-day competition Glos narrowly missed out on qualification for the quarter-finals on net run rate, but Benkenstein still believes there's still many positives to take from the tournament.
He said he was happy to see Gloucestershire's senior players step up to make match-winning contributions, and said he was pleased to see the likes of Tom and Ollie Price, Ben Charlesworth, Ben Wells and Ajeet Singh Dale put in meaningful performances that helped Glos win matches throughout the Royal London Cup.
Benkenstein said: "I feel we had quite a nice balance between experience and youth, and the young guys who came in did brilliantly. We showed the cricket we can produce, it's just about doing that consistently."
