Cowan Back To Face Northants
3 September 2012
Ed Cowan returns to Gloucestershire’s team for the final LV=County Championship home game of the season against Northamptonshire at Bristol tomorrow (10.30am start).
The popular batsman, who made such a good impression during a short spell as the club’s overseas player earlier this season, has stayed on in England after leading the Australia A tour to this country.
As was agreed last month, he will be making a one-off final appearance of the summer for Gloucestershire after recently becoming a father.
Skipper Alex Gidman also returns to the squad after missing the narrow defeat by Yorkshire at Scarborough.
And there is also a place in the 13 for Academy batsman Cameron Herring, from Tredegar, at the age of only 17.
Gloucestershire go into the game bottom of the Championship Second Division, one point behind Glamorgan and seven behind Leicestershire, who have played a game more.
E.Cowan, B.Howell, D.Housego, A.Gidman (capt), H.Marshall, I.Cockbain, W.Gidman, J.Taylor, J.Fuller, J.Batty (wkt), A.Ireland, L.Norwell, C.Herring.
