Brightside renew support for Gloucestershire’s T20 campaign
6 July 2017
Brightside Insurance Group, sponsors of the Brightside Ground, home of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, have renewed their support of Gloucestershire’s T20 campaign by taking the lead sponsorship of the T20 shirt for the second year running.
Gloucestershire had a strong campaign in the NatWest T20 Blast last year, finishing top of the south group and reaching the quarter final stages. Support also grew on the ground, with record attendances reached for the home derby against Somerset at the Brightside Ground.
Individual performances from overseas player Michael Klinger saw him as the highest run scorer in the competition. Whilst Benny Howell was top bowler, taking the most wickets in the competition.
With such an exciting campaign last year, Brightside are looking forward to getting behind the team again and being part of the action this year. CEO Mark Cliff said, “We’re really pleased to be sponsoring Gloucestershire for the T20 again this year, and hope the team can go a step further this time around and make it to the semi-final and the final.”
Gloucestershire are delighted that Brightside have again put their support behind the team for the T20 competition. GCCC CEO Will Brown said, “Brightside Insurance is a great business and a big employer in the area. Last year we saw a huge amount of support for the team and it was lovely to see so many of their staff attending matches at the ground.
“We are thrilled that they have agreed to sponsor the front of the T20 shirt for the second year, it’s a great addition to their sponsorship of the ground. This year the kit is even brighter and bolder than ever before, so you will not miss the Brightside name emblazoned across the front. It certainly stands out!”
Gloucestershire will be kicking off their NatWest T20 Blast campaign in style with the first match of the competition taking place at the historic Cheltenham Cricket Festival on Friday 7 July against Middlesex.
There will be seven home T20’s in total this season, with three played at the Cheltenham Ground as part of the Festival. The Brightside Ground, Bristol, will host four NatWest T20 Blast matches including the derby fixtures against Somerset and Glamorgan.
