Jack Taylor (pictured), Liam Norwell and David Payne claimed two wickets each as Gloucestershire bowled out Worcestershire for 275 on the first day of the two-day friendly game at Kidderminster.

Gloucestershire then had three overs to face and Chris Russell took the wickets of Chris Dent (1) and Dan Housego for a duck with consecutive balls as the visitors closed on 2-2.

Taylor (2-49), Norwell (2-53) and Payne (2-55) had earlier ensured that Worcestershire were unable to recover fully from a poor start against the new bacll.

The hosts chose to bat first, but by the fourth over they were 7-2, with both Daryl Mitchell (2) and Moeen Ali (5) back in the pavilion.

Thilan Samaraweera, making his Worcestershire debut, scored 13 before he was the third wicket to fall and when Neil Pinner was out for two the home side were in trouble at 43-4 in the 24th over.

Matt Pardoe and Michael Johnson took the score to 62-4 off 29 overs at lunch and then in the afternoon session Johnson was out for 16 to make it 89-5 in the 38th over.

Worcestershire then fought back as Pardoe and Alexei Kervezee batted through the rest of the session, Pardoe reaching his half-century off 119 balls, whilst Kervezee got to his fifty off 50 balls to take Worcestershire to tea on 194-5 off 64 overs.

In the final session the sixth-wicket partnership ended on 135 when Pardoe was out for a solid 91 off 217 balls, with 11 fours and 1 six. But Kervezee went on to reach his century with a six, which went onto the railway line.

Although Kervezee was out with his next delivery it was a brilliant knock of 102 off 120 balls, with 14 fours and 2 sixes.

From 238-7, in the 75th over, the innings lasted a further 16 overs as Gareth Andrew (4), Shaaiq Choudhry (17) and Richard Jones (11) were the last three wickets to fall and Worcestershire were dismissed off 90.4 overs.
