24 August 2023
Gloucestershire batter Ben Wells has been ruled out for the remainder of a season due to a hamstring tear.
The 23-year-old sustained the injury during Shire's home victory over Durham on Tuesday in the Metro Bank One Day Cup. It was in that match that Ben scored a maiden List A hundred, 108 not out, to guide Gloucestershire to a vital win and a home quarter-final vs Lancashire tomorrow (Friday).
Following a scan yesterday (Wednesday) which confirmed the hamstring tear, Ben will undergo a period of recovery and rehabilitation ahead of pre-season and preparation for the 2024 season.
Everyone at Gloucestershire wishes Ben all the best with his recovery.
