"This summer sees the ICC Women’s World Cup come to England and I couldn’t be more excited. Any World Cup is special to play in but for it to be on home soil and having games at my home ground makes it doubly special.

"Our preparations for this World Cup have gone pretty smoothly, barring an injury to our captain Heather Knight. Thankfully she is now fit and firing and ready to lead us in this tournament.

"We have played a number of warm up games in the last 3 weeks, which have all been very successful. We started with games against Sussex boys and the West Indies, which we were victorious in. With Heather not quite being ready to play, it gave me an opportunity to captain the side, which is something I always enjoy.

"The following week had an internal game and a game against India, which again we came out on top in. The game against India was particularly valuable as we haven’t played them in an ODI game since 2014 and they are our first opponents during the World Cup. You don’t want any surprises during that first game, as there will already be plenty of nerves around. The game provided us with a good opportunity to make sure we had all our game plans in place before the first game.

"This week has seen us meet up officially for the World Cup and play our final two official warm up games against Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Once again, we were successful in both of these games, giving us a lot of confidence going into the competition.

"The victory against New Zealand was particularly satisfying as they’re definitely one of the favourites for the tournament. The Sri Lanka game saw some big scores for Sarah Taylor (84) and Heather (100) which was a real bonus for them and the team after coming back from time out of the game.

"Personally I have been happy with how I have bowled and have been chipping away with some wickets throughout the warm up games.

"So now the start of the tournament is almost upon us. We start at a sold out Derby against India on Saturday and excitement is really building. The preparation is all done and its time to get going!"

England Cricket will play three matches in Bristol, including one of the highlights of the group stages, England v Australia on Sunday 9 July.
