Amber hits year six of Gloucestershire partnership

24 February 2022

Gloucestershire Cricket’s partnership with Amber, the Cardiff-based energy management consultancy, has entered its sixth year for 2022 with the company continuing as the Club’s playing caps sponsor this season.

Amber, formerly known as amber energy prior to a recent re-brand, share Gloucestershire’s passion for supporting the global fight against climate change and achieving net zero, and have been a strategic partner of Gloucestershire Cricket since May 2017. The partnership has gone from strength to strength ever since and has seen Amber work closely with the Club over the last five years, to ensure it uses energy as efficiently as possible at the Bristol County Ground.

The continuation of the successful relationship means Gloucestershire’s team playing caps, worn on both T20 Vitality Blast and Royal London Cup matchdays, will once again feature the familiar Amber logo.

Neil Priscott, Commercial and Marketing Director at Gloucestershire Cricket, said: "Amber has shown Gloucestershire unwavering support throughout the pandemic years and we’re thrilled to be working with them for what will hopefully be a successful season on and off the field.

“The Club has been very vocal about our commitment to the global Race To Zero and having Amber as our energy partner, allows us to take a significant step towards reducing our own carbon footprint.”

Amber’s mission statement, which includes their pledge to help save the planet, aligns closely with that of Gloucestershire and its commitment to reach Net Zero emissions by 2040. Amber who were named ‘Consultancy of the Year’ in 2020, has been managing Gloucestershire’s energy and has helped the Club to identify its Net Zero requirements and solutions.

Luke Roberts, Senior Account Manager at Amber, said: “Since 2017, when we first became Gloucestershire Cricket’s official energy management partner, we’ve developed a really close working relationship, supporting the Club to reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint. After a strong opening innings, we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together in the next few years.”
