A look back at Gloucestershire's home T20 matches in 2019

As Gloucestershire prepare for the Quarter-Final fixture against Derbyshire Falcons at the Bristol County Ground on Saturday night, (Saturday 7th September) we take a look back at Gloucestershire’s performances at home in front of terrific crowds in both Bristol and Cheltenham.
Glamorgan in Cheltenham (Fri 19th July)
Benny Howell made career best bowling figures on a day marred by the unforgiving rain that led to the opening T20 match against Glamorgan being abandoned at Cheltenham College.
Gloucestershire managed to pick up eight wickets before play was called off after 15.3 overs with Glamorgan 96/8. All-rounder Benny Howell took five wickets for just 18 runs in his four over spell.
Result – Match Drawn (Abandoned)
Middlesex in Cheltenham (Thurs 25th July)
Cheltenham-born Miles Hammond delighted his home crowd with a brilliant array of shots as Gloucestershire inflicted a first defeat on Middlesex in this season’s Vitality Blast.
In front of a sell-out 5,000 attendance at a steaming College Ground, the 23-year-old opener smashed 63, including 9 fours and 3 sixes, to help see his side to a two-wicket win after the visitors had won the toss and elected to bat.
Result – Gloucestershire won by 2 wickets

Essex Eagles in Bristol (Fri 2nd August)
Ryan Higgins made an impressive 77 not out in vain as Gloucestershire fell short by 25 runs to Essex, a first defeat in the 2019 Vitality Blast.
Gloucestershire were given a high total to chase after Essex finished 206/3. Tom Westley was the games high scorer with 86 off 54, Cameron Delport and Dan Lawrence also chipped in with half-centuries for the Eagles.
Undone by the loss of early wickets, Gloucestershire left themselves with too much to do despite a frenetic fifth wicket stand of 93 in 42 balls between Jack Taylor and Ryan Higgins.
Result – Essex Eagles won by 25 runs
Sussex Sharks in Bristol (Sun 4th August)
Sussex secured a three-wicket victory over Gloucestershire having successfully matched Gloucestershire’s score until the final over when players on the field were notified that the umpires, Ian Gould and Mike Burns had given the hosts a six-run penalty for slow over-rate.
The home side, who were sporting purple Rainbow Day shirts, posted a solid 159/6 from their innings. Cockbain the high scorer after an impressive 61 not out from 49 balls with five fours and a six.
Delray Rawlins was the game-winner for Sussex. He came in at number six for the Sharks and carried them home with a confident knock of 35 off 17.
Result – Sussex Sharks won by 3 wickets

Kent Spitfires in Bristol (Wed 7th August)
Kent Spitfires could post only 125 for eight after losing the toss on a slow pitch, Daniel Bell-Drummond contributing almost half the runs with 62. There were two wickets each for David Payne, Chris Liddle and Andrew Tye.
In reply, Gloucestershire reached 131 for five, winning with 7 balls to spare, Jack Taylor (19 not out) and Benny Howell (25 not out) seeing them home.
Result – Gloucestershire won by 5 wickets
Hampshire in Bristol (Tue 13th August)
Academy product James Bracey registered his highest score in Vitality T20 Blast cricket as Gloucestershire successfully chased a victory target of 140 to beat Hampshire by seven wickets with 13 balls to spare at the Bristol County Ground.
Bracey scored his maiden T20 fifty in his ninth appearance and dominated a match-winning partnership of 102 in 11 overs with Michael Klinger on his way to a superb 64 from 48 balls.
Result – Gloucestershire won by 7 wickets

Gloucestershire v Derbyshire Falcons (Vitality Blast Quarter-Final) - Book Tickets
Somerset in Bristol (Fri 23rd August)
In front of a sell-out crowd, Michael Klinger scored a match-winning 74 to lead Gloucestershire to a vital 25-run Vitality Blast win over arch-rivals Somerset.
The home side posted 189 for four after losing the toss in front of an 8,000 crowd, Klinger leading the way with 8 fours and a six in his 52-ball innings, while Miles Hammond hit 56 from 43 deliveries. Max Waller was the pick of the Somerset attack, bowling his four overs for 25 runs.
In reply, Somerset could manage only 164 all out, Babar Azam contributing 44, James Hildreth 40 and Tom Lammonby 31. Tom Smith claimed three for 19 and Graeme van Buuren two for 27.
Result – Gloucestershire won by 25 runs
