2025 Vitality Blast fixtures revealed for Gloucestershire Men and Women

21 November 2024

Gloucestershire Cricket is delighted to announce the 2025 Vitality Blast fixtures for Gloucestershire Men and Women.

Gloucestershire Men will begin the defence of their Vitality Blast trophy with a home tie at the Seat Unique Stadium against Kent Spitfires, on Friday 30th May. Gloucestershire Women, meanwhile, kick off their inaugural Vitality Blast Women’s League 2 campaign with an away matchup against Sussex Sharks on Sunday 1st June.

Looking once again to make full use of the home advantage the Gloucestershire faithful give the team, Mark Alleyne’s side will play six home matches in Bristol and one - the final match of the group stage against Sussex Sharks - at the iconic Towergate Cheltenham Cricket Festival on Thursday 17th July.

Gloucestershire Men will play in three Friday night fixtures at the Seat Unique Stadium including the highly anticipated West County Derby against Somerset, whom Gloucestershire beat three times on the way to lifting the trophy at Edgbaston last season.

The Seat Unique Stadium will also host two double-headers involving both Gloucestershire Men and Gloucestershire Women with the first taking place Sunday 15th June in Bristol, and the second happening on Thursday 17th July at Cheltenham College.

Away from home, Gloucestershire will travel to local rivals Somerset on Friday 18th July and will take part in double-headers alongside Gloucestershire Women against Sussex Sharks in Hove on Sunday 1st June, and on Sunday 13th July against Glamorgan in Cardiff.

Speaking with excitement at the opportunity to defend the Vitality Blast trophy, Head Coach at Gloucestershire, Mark Alleyne, said"As the holders of the Blast it brings high expectations as we approach the 2025 season. Last season we were really keen to raise those expectations, so we will be operating from a position we worked really hard for.

"We also know the game from this position has a slightly different perspective as teams are often very stimulated to take down the Champions.

"The key difference next year will be the support. In 2024 we thought it had great impact in some of our key fixtures so we expect more of the same but maybe in greater numbers. When the margins are so slender, it is amazing how the support can get you over the line in those last ball/last over finishes."

Gloucestershire Women

In their first Vitality Blast campaign as a Tier 2 side, Gloucestershire Women will play two of their home group stage matches at the Seat Unique Stadium and two at the Towergate Cheltenham Cricket Festival.

Gloucestershire Women’s first home match of the competition will be against Kent Women at the Seat Unique Stadium on Sunday 15th June, followed by Glamorgan Women at the same venue on Sunday 29th June.

Taking part in four home and four away matches in Vitality Blast Women’s League 2, Gloucestershire Women will also take on Sussex Sharks Women and Middlesex Women at Cheltenham College in July.
