2022 MEMBERS INFORMATION
8 April 2022
Season welcome from Gloucestershire Chief Executive, Will Brown
Dear Member,
We hope this information finds you well and looking forward to the season ahead. It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to welcome you back to Bristol in April and whilst we can’t guarantee the weather, we can guarantee you a warm welcome on your return.
We hope that the information below is useful to you as you plan your trips to both the Seat Unique Stadium and the Visit Cayman Islands Cheltenham Cricket Festival.
There have been some significant and hopefully positive changes regarding access to the Stadium and the facilities that you can use. The Hammond Roof has had a new stand installed this week and this remains a Members area for County Championship matches as does the Korev Roof Terrace. A new Member’s provision has also been placed in the Grace Room for County Championship and Royal London matches whilst the “Legends Bar” has had significant investment and is a good enhancement at the Ashley Down Road end. In addition, the Thatchers Bar and Café has had further development and now provides a great environment for those wanting to watch from indoors.
Scorecards will return for the season; we will have stock available for your arrival but we can also print on demand as we try to limit further the wastage that we generate.
Other rules around entry have changed slightly as we endeavour to provide a more welcoming environment for all. Over the course of the year we will be bringing in some lower alcohol (and some no alcohol) beers to add to our normal offering, and on some match days we will have dedicated family and no alcohol stands.
The permanent toilets opposite the Club office have been refurbished and we have brought in a number of new units as well around the ground. With the players no longer using the pavilion for changing we have also been able to re-open the toilets there.
For those of you that are able to attend the AGM it is taking place this Thursday (14th April) in the Grace room at the end of the day’s play. We have not had an AGM in person since 2019 and I’m sure collectively we will all have a lot to discuss across both Gloucestershire and the wider game.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday and throughout the season.
All the best,
Will Brown
MEMBERSHIP CARDS AND MATCH ARRANGEMENTS
We are delighted to confirm that normal arrangements will resume for Members this season.
Members will be able to gain admission to matches included within their membership via their membership cards without any requirement to pre-book.
If you were not a Member in 2021, you should by now have received a new membership card or otherwise had communication from the club requesting a photograph.
If you were a Member in 2021, you should continue to use the card issued last year unless you have been sent a new card.
If you have any query regarding your membership card, please contact the Club ahead of your first visit.
MEMBERSHIP AREA
As an innovation in 2022, we are delighted to advise that Members will have access to part of The Grace Room for all County Championship and Royal London One Day Cup fixtures and will be able to make use of the bar.
The Members-only viewing area will be on The Hammond Roof and Terrace (subject to availability).
NEW AND IMPROVED FACILITIES FOR 2022
The refurbished Thatchers Café will be selling a range of barista coffees, cakes and pastries and light lunches throughout the season.
The newly launched Legends Bar (formerly Stumps Café) will provide an alternative facility at the other side of the ground.
In addition, the Jessop Room (in the ground floor of The Pavilion) will be open to spectators to sit and shelter from any inclement weather conditions.
THE VISIT CAYMAN ISLANDS CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL
We are greatly looking forward to the 150th Anniversary edition of The Visit Cayman Islands Cheltenham Cricket Festival and, after the restrictions imposed upon us in 2021, we are planning a more ‘normal’ event with some extra tweaks to mark this special occasion. Further information will be released in due course.
GROUND REGULATIONS
No alcohol will be able to be brought into the ground on any match day in 2022. Members are welcome to bring food and soft drinks but no glass is permitted.
Both the Seat Unique Stadium and Cheltenham College remain cashless venues in 2022.
