2015 fixtures announced!
28 November 2014
Gloucestershire supporters can look forward to an exciting summer of cricket as the Club announces its First Class playing programme for 2015.
We have four Friday night NatWest T20 Blast fixtures scheduled at the Bristol County Ground with two T20 fixtures being played at the Brewin Dolphin Cheltenham Cricket Festival. The T20 campaign kicks off when we welcome Middlesex to the Bristol County Ground on Friday 15 May. The big T20 clash of the season comes on Friday 19 June when arch rivals Somerset travel to Bristol - this fixture will undoubtedly draw its usual large crowd!
Gloucestershire’s 2015 bid for LV= County Championship honours begins with an away fixture. The home campaign gets underway on Sunday 26 April when we welcome Derbyshire to the Bristol County Ground.
In 2015 fans will be able to enjoy Royal London One-Day Cup 50 over matches which again take place during the school summer holidays. Our first home match takes place on Wednesday 29 July when we play Derbyshire at the Bristol County Ground. For the second time in 2015, Gloucestershire will be hosting arch rivals Somerset on Sunday 2 August (this time in the 50 over format).
The world famous Cheltenham Cricket Festival, which is again sponsored by Brewin Dolphin, gets underway on Wednesday 8 July with a 4 day LV= County Championship match v Northamptonshire. This will be followed by a T20 clash against Kent on Sunday 12 July. The T20 rivalry continues with a match v Hampshire on Tuesday 14 July. The LV= County Championship campaign resumes on Wednesday 15 July with a 4 day match v Leicestershire.
On Thursday 23 July, the Club will be hosting the second match in the 2015 Women’s Ashes Series as England take on Australia in a Royal London One-Day International Match (ODI) at the Bristol County Ground. Having hosted International cricket in Bristol since 1999, this is the first time Gloucestershire Cricket has had an opportunity to showcase a women’s 50 over match.
Chief Executive, Will Brown, said: “We’re delighted to have so much great cricket on offer in 2015. Somerset at home in a NatWest T20 Blast match on Friday 19 June and again in the Royal London One-Day Cup on Sunday 2 August will no doubt be the highlight for many but with some great cricket all year round there is plenty to excite fans. The Brewin Dolphin Cheltenham Cricket Festival will no doubt once again be a fantastic fortnight and we look forward to returning to the wonderful setting of Cheltenham College. With the Gloucestershire team showing some real promise in 2014 this should be a breakthrough year for the Club with high hopes in all formats.”
